Colossians

Colossians Chapter 1

Paul, a commissioned representative of Anointed Jesus through God’s purpose, with brother Timothy, (2)to the, in-Colossae, holy and faithful brothers in Christ: goodwill and friendship from God, our Father.

(3)We give exaltation to God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, always when we pray about you, (4)having heard about your faith in Christ Jesus and the love which you have unto all the hallowed ones, (5)because of the hope stored up for you in the heavens, which you previously heard in the word of the truth of the gospel, (6)which is present in you, just as also in all the world it is bearing fruit and increasing, just as in you, from the day you heard and fully understood the grace of God in truth, (7)exactly as you extracted it from Epaphras, our beloved co-worker, who is a faithful servant of Christ for you, (8)who also made clear to us your love in spirit.

(9)Because of this, we also, from the very day we heard, have not stopped praying on your behalf and asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his purpose, aligned in all his ways and spiritual viewpoint, (10)resulting in a life befitting of the Lord, complying in all things, producing fruit in every good activity and growing through the knowledge of God, (11)being empowered in all power, according to the potency of His glory, producing all endurance and restraint under prolonged hardship.

With joy (12)giving thanks to the Father, who equipped you for your part of the alloted portion of the hallowed ones in the light, (13)who rescued us out of the authority of darkness and relocated us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, (14) in whom we have deliverance, the removal of sins, (15)who is an image of the unseen God, firstborn of all creation, (16)because in Him everything was created, the things in the heavens and on the earth, the things seen and the things unseen, whether thrones, whether lordships, whether leaders, whether authorities. All things, through Him and in reference to Him, have been created.

(17)And He, Himself is before all things, and all things fit together in Him. (18)And He Himself is head of the body, the ekklâsía; who is source, first-born from the dead; so that He Himself might become in all ways the focal point.

(19)Because He was pleased for all the fullness to dwell in Him, (20)and through Him to restore right relationship with all things unto Himself, making peace through the blood of His cross, whether the things on the earth, whether the things in the heavens.

(21)And, you, once, were being antagonistic, a hateful attitude even, in the activities of evil. (22)But now he has won you back, in the body of his flesh, through THE DEATH, to present you in His presence, hallowed, without fault or accusation. (23)IF you are sticking with the having been established and settled faith and not ceasing from the hope of the gospel which you heard, the gospel having been proclaimed in all creation under heaven, of which, I, Paul, became a server.

(24)Now I rejoice in the things suffered on your behalf, and I take a turn in my flesh at filling up the absence of the sufferings of Christ on behalf of His body, which is the ekklâsía, (25)of which, I, myself, have become a server according to the household order of God, the one given to me to fulfill unto you the message of God, (26)the mystery, which had been concealed from the ages and from the generations but now is illuminated to His hallowed ones, (27)to whom God wanted to make known: ‘What is the wealth of the glory of this mystery among the non-Israelite nations?’; answer, “Christ in you, the hope of glory!” (28)Whom we are proclaiming, informing each man and explaining to each man with all skillfulness, in order that we might present each man in full measure in Christ.

(29)I am toiling for this, competing, in accordance with His vigor, with ability being invigorated in me.

Colossians 2:1 Now I want you to know how much I am striving for you and those in Laodocea and as many as have not seen me in person,
2 that their hearts might be stimulated, having been intimately joined in love, and into all the wealth of the certainty of the mutual understanding into the knowing of the mystery of God, into the knowing of Christ.
3 in whom, all the storehouses of the ‘whys’ and ‘how’s’ are secreted.
4 I say this so that no one may beguile you with a pleasing message.
5 For even if I am far away in the flesh, yet in the spirit I am with you, while rejoicing and perceiving your solidarity and the solidness of your faith in Christ.
6 Therefore, as you incorporated the Lord Jesus Christ, be walking in Him,
7 having been founded and erected in Him and being settled in faith just as you were informed, exuberant in appreciation.
8 see that no one captivate you through the ‘let’s be wise’ tactic or the empty ‘pleasure yourself’ seduction, according to the advice of men, according to the common sense of the world, and not according to Christ.
9 Because in Him all the totality of ‘divine-ways’ are housed in human form.
10 And you are in Him, having been totally filled, who is the source of all startups and processes.
11 In Christ’s circumcision, in the stripping away of the entire substance of the flesh, in whom you also were circumcised, a circumcision done without hands,
12 when you were jointly buried with him in the baptism, in which you were also jointly raised through the faith of the operating power of the God who raised him from the dead.
13 And while being a dead you, dead with regard to moral failings and to the flesh’s uncircumcision, he jointly made you alive with him, having dealt with you graciously regarding all the moral failings.
14 having wiped clean the record of the laws charged to us, which was being antagonistic to us. He has shouldered it, carried it away, nailing it to the cross.
15 He publicly exposed the leaders and the authorities, having stripped off their facade of initiating charges and effecting due processes triumphantly displaying their criminal status by it, i.e. the cross.
16 Therefore, do not let anyone judge you in regard to eating and drinking or in taking part of a celebration or of a new moon or of a sabbath.
17 Which all is a shadow of the future, but the body of Christ is the reality that cast the shadow.
18 Let no one defraud you, wanting, in humility and service of angels, to be entering into things which he has seen, vainly being puffed up by the thoughts of his flesh,
19 and not cleaving to the head, out of whom all the body, being amply aided and intimately connected, through the affiliations and relationships, causes God’s growth to grow.
20 If you died with Christ from the ABCs of the world, why be dictated to as those living in reference to world.
21 You should not take a bite! You should not even taste! You should not even touch!
22 All this food goes to destruction when consumed. It is according to cultural instructions and teachings.
23 Which is a concept indeed having wisdom for those desiring religious observances and humilities and unsparing treatment of the body, but not worth anything with regard to the gratification of the flesh.

Colossians 3:1 If, therefore, you were raised with Christ, pursue the things above, where Christ is seated at God’s right.
2 Focus your thinking on what matters above, not what matters on the earth.
3 For you died and your life has been hidden with the Christ in God.
4 Whenever the time should come when the Christ, your life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him with glory.
5 Therefore, eradicate the parts that are still of the earth: porno-activity, filth, passionate yearnings, wicked cravings, and possession-grubbing, each of which is adoration for that which isn’t God.
6 Because of these God’s wrath comes.
7 You also entered into these once, when you lived for them.
8 But now, you too, lay aside all these: rage, a violent temper, venomousness, cussing, dirty talk from your mouth.
9 Don’t be false to each other, since you have shed the old man along with its old ways.
10 and have clothed yourselves with the new, which is being renewed in thinking, conforming to the One’s likeness who created the new man.
11 A likeness that contains; no Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, savage, slave, free, but all are Christ and Christ is in all.
12 Therefore clothe yourselves, as God’s chosen ones, hallowed and loved, with deeply felt compassion, an attitude of doing good, a willingness to put others first, being considerate, never retaliatory when wronged.
13 Continue putting up with each other and being gracious to each other, even if someone should be having a reason to resent another; just as also the Lord was gracious to you, you be gracious also.
14 And pour love over all these things, which is perfection’s harmonizer.
15 And let the Christ’s peace arbitrate among you, into which peace you were also called in one body, and be making yourselves thankful.
16 The message of Christ must dwell among you profusely, in all wisdom, teaching and prompting each other, with psalms, hymns, spiritual songs, singing to God with goodwill in your hearts.
17 And everything which you might be doing, in word or in action, do in Lord Jesus’ name, thanking Father God through Him.
18 Wives, be submitting to your husbands, as being responsible in the Lord.
19 Husbands, love your wives, and do not be irritable toward them.
20 Children, mind your parents concerning all things, for this is acceptable in the Lord.
21 Fathers, do not goad your children, lest their spirits be broken.
22 Workers, mind your human bosses about all things, not with eyeservice or as menpleasers, but in integrity of heart, revering the Lord.
23 Whatever you might do, do it from the heart as to the Lord and not men.
24 knowing that from our Lord you shall receive the satisfaction of your alloted bequest. You are serving the Lord Christ.
25 For the one who is acting unjustly will get back for himself that which he unjustly did, and there is no favoritism!

Colossians 4:1 Bosses, provide for your workers what is just and fair, knowing that you also are having a boss in heavens.
2 Be persevering in prayer, stay awake in it with goodwill.
3 Include us also in that praying, so that God might open for us a door of the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, because of which also I have been bound.
4 In order that I might reveal it in the way that I should say it.
5 Be living with skill before those outside, making good use of the time.
6 Your words should always be with goodwill, prepared with salt, be prepared to know how you should answer each one.
7 Tychicus, a loved and faithful brother and co-worker in our Lord will explain to you all that has been happening to me.
8 I sent him to you especially that you might know all about us and stir your hearts,
9 along with dear faithful brother Onesimus, who is from your ekklâsía. They will tell you about everything here.
10 Aristarchus, my fellow prisoner, sends you a hug, as does Mark, Barnabas’ cousin, concerning whom you have received directives. If he should come to you, accept him.
11 As does Jesus, who calls himself Justus. These alone are co-workers in the kingdom of God from the circumcision, who became a comfort to me.
12 Christ’s worker, Epaphras, one of your people, sends affections. In his prayer closet, he is always pressing in for you, so that you might stand, completely and fulfilled, in every purpose of God.
13 For, about him, I assure you, that he holds you in high regards, and those in Laodicea and those in Hieropolis.
14 Luke, the dear healer, and Demas send affections.
15 Greet the in-Laodicea brothers and Nympha and the at-her-house ekklâsía.
16 And whenever this letter is read in your presence, do what is necessary that it may also be read in the ekklâsía of the Laodiceans; and do what is necessary that the one from Laodicea you yourselves also may read.
17 also tell Archippus, “See to the field of service that you undertook in the Lord, so that you might finish it.”
18 Affections from Paul, with my own hand! Remember my bonds. Grace be with you!
